ICU & Procedures
18 products available — Disposable kits for theatre and ICU: circuits, drains, surgical drapes and more.
Buying guide — ICU & Procedures
The ICU and operating theatre concentrate the most complex, highest infection-risk procedures in the hospital. Disposable procedure supplies — drainage kits, closed suction systems, surgical drapes, ventilation circuits — must meet the most rigorous sterility and biocompatibility standards. Immediate availability can be decisive in an emergency: a stockout is not an option in intensive care. Edaochi handles urgent orders with 24-hour response times.
What to verify before buying
- ✓Class IIa or IIb sterility (EU directive) — for supplies in direct contact with tissue or airway
- ✓Individually numbered packaging — eases supply counting and biohazard waste management
- ✓VAP-bundle compatible — for ventilator-associated pneumonia prevention
- ✓Size variants available — match the supply to each patient's real anatomy
The ICU and procedure product groups
The ICU and theatre concentrate the most complex, highest infection-risk procedures. The catalogue is organised by function:
- Airway management and resuscitation: the BVM manual resuscitator (Ambu) and the oropharyngeal airway / bite block.
- Suctioning: the disposable suction kit, the high-volume hospital aspirator and the portables (XP30, high-suction portable).
- Vascular access and drainage: the central venous catheter (CVC) kit and the negative-pressure / vacuum drain.
- Surgical field and prep: the surgical drape / sheet, the surgical prep razor and the disposable kidney dish.
- Specialised procedures: the gastroscopy kit, the bone marrow biopsy needle, the uterine contrast catheter (HSG) and the ultrasound needle guide.
In intensive care a stockout is not an option: we handle urgent orders with 24-hour response.
Resuscitation: the manual resuscitator (BVM) and the airway
The BVM manual resuscitator ventilates the patient who is not breathing. For correct use, the mask seal (C-E technique), the volume (only until the chest rises) and the oxygen reservoir connected at 10–15 L/min matter — the latter to reach a FiO₂ near 100 %. It comes in adult, paediatric and neonatal sizes.
The oropharyngeal (Guedel) airway keeps the airway open in the unconscious patient; the size is measured from the corner of the mouth to the angle of the jaw. Guides: how to use the manual resuscitator (BVM) and Guedel airway: how to size and insert it.
Suctioning in the ICU: portable vs hospital
The choice of aspirator depends on the setting:
| Unit | Use | Feature |
|---|---|---|
| Portable aspirator / XP30 | Transport, ER, home care | Compact, battery |
| Hospital aspirator | Theatre, ICU | High volume, continuous use |
In both, the vacuum must be adjustable with a reliable gauge, and the jar must have an anti-backflow system and a filter to protect the pump. The disposable suction kit standardises the procedure. Technique and pressures by age are in suctioning technique (mmHg).
Sterility and packaging: what sets an ICU supply apart
Supplies in contact with tissue or airway demand the most rigorous standards:
- Class IIa or IIb sterility (EU directive) for invasive supplies.
- Individually numbered packaging, which eases counting and biohazard waste management.
- Compatibility with the VAP-prevention bundle in everything ventilation-related.
- Size variants to match the supply to the patient's real anatomy.
Kits such as the single-lumen CVC or the gastroscopy kit should include all sterile components in a single pack to guarantee asepsis and save nursing time.
What to check when buying ICU supplies wholesale
For hospitals, surgical centres and distributors:
- Certified sterility (EO) with a visible indicator on each individual pack.
- Full size ranges in resuscitators, airways and circuits (adult, paediatric, neonatal).
- Reliable gauge and adjustable vacuum in aspirators, with an anti-backflow jar and filter.
- CE (MDR 2017/745) / ISO 13485 certification and lot traceability — essential in tenders.
- Availability and fast response for urgent orders: in the ICU a stockout costs lives.

Can you handle urgent ICU orders, and with what documentation?
We keep critical supplies in stock for urgent dispatch (24 h response); OEM or customised kits have a longer production lead time. We provide certified sterility and CE / ISO 13485 documentation for tenders and registration.
What sizes does the manual resuscitator (BVM) come in?
In adult, paediatric and neonatal sizes, each with its matching mask. An adult bag is no good for a neonate: it over-inflates. It is best to keep all three sizes on the crash cart.
Which aspirator should I choose, portable or hospital?
The portable (compact, battery-powered) is for transport, the ER and home care. The high-volume hospital unit is for theatre and the ICU, where it runs continuously. In both cases the vacuum must be adjustable, with a reliable gauge and an anti-backflow jar.
Do the procedure kits come sterile and complete?
Yes. The kits (suction, CVC, gastroscopy) come EO-sterilised, in individual packaging with a sterility indicator, and include all the components needed to guarantee asepsis and save nursing prep time.
Can you handle urgent orders for the ICU?
Yes. In intensive care a stockout is not an option, so we handle urgent orders with 24-hour response times, with permanent stock of critical supplies and lot traceability for audits.
What sterility level do the invasive supplies meet?
Supplies in direct contact with tissue or airway meet class IIa or IIb sterility under the EU directive, with CE / ISO 13485 certification and individually numbered packaging that eases counting and biohazard waste management.
