How does the mucus trap collect a sample?
It is inserted in series in the suction circuit — catheter (patient side) to one port, vacuum source to the other. As you suction, secretions are captured in the sterile 40 ml jar instead of going to the canister, giving a clean sample for the lab with no transfer step. See our suctioning technique guide.
Is the sample sterile and ready for the lab?
Yes. The jar is EO-sterile in an individual peel-pouch, and the anti-contamination adaptor and leak-proof screw cap keep the specimen clean from collection to transport — the cap is closed and the jar goes directly to the lab.

Edaochi Medical's 40 ml disposable mucus trap turns a routine suction pass into a clean, lab-ready respiratory specimen. It connects in series between the suction catheter and the vacuum source, so sputum and tracheobronchial secretions are captured in a sterile graduated jar rather than lost to the canister.
Clean from collection to lab
The anti-contamination adaptor isolates the specimen from the non-sterile suction tubing, the leak-proof screw cap protects the pouring surface, and the collapse-proof 5-inch tube keeps suction flowing. The jar is EO-sterile in an individual peel-pouch, graduated in 5 cc increments. No transfer step means less contamination risk.
