Frequently Asked Questions — Sterile Infant Rubber Bulb Suction Aspirator
How is the XY537 bulb aspirator used on a newborn?
Squeeze the bulb before inserting the tip into the nostril or mouth. Releasing the bulb creates a vacuum that draws secretions in. Withdraw and empty before repeating, and do not insert the tip more than 1–2 cm.
Is the XY537 latex-free?
The tip is latex-free medical silicone. The bulb body is natural rubber, so where a latex allergy is suspected we recommend the full silicone-tip infant suction device (XY457) instead.
When should a bulb aspirator be used instead of an electric aspirator?
A bulb is suitable for mild secretions in healthy neonates or at home. For thick or large-volume secretions, or neonates with respiratory pathology, an electric aspirator with an F4–F6 suction catheter under medical supervision is preferred.

Full Description — Sterile Infant Rubber Bulb Suction Aspirator
Edaochi Medical's sterile rubber-bulb suction aspirator (SKU XY537) is the simplest airway-clearance tool — the squeeze bulb used in the delivery room and at the cot side.
How it works
Squeeze the bulb first, insert the soft silicone tip 1–2 cm, then release: the vacuum created draws nasal or oral secretions into the bulb. No wall suction, no electric aspirator — which makes it ideal for the delivery room, transport and mild secretions.
When to step up
For thick or copious secretions, or babies with respiratory pathology, use active suction — the infant nasal suction device or an electric aspirator with an F4–F6 suction catheter. See our suctioning technique & pressure guide.
